Quick Rava Idli

Ingredients:

Soak the following for 30 minutes (Soak Ingredients 1) :
 1 cup Semolina/sooji
 1 cup Yoghurt
 ½ tbsp Salt
 ½ tbsp Baking Soda
Soak the following dal/lentils for 15 min in boiling water in a separate bowl (Soak Ingredients 2) :
 1 tbsp Chana Dal
 1 tbsp Urid dal
 ½ pinch Ginger grated
 ½ tbsp Turmeric powder
 ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
 1 tbsp Oil (as your liking)
 Ghee or oil
 Idli maker

Directions:

Mix Soak Ingredients 1 well and set aside

Add a bit of water if needed to the mix to make it medium consistency so that it’s runny that it will fall off a spoon easy but not so thick that it will not fall off the spoon.

Add oil to a hot pan, add mustard seeds, dal, grated ginger, when it is cooked well, then add turmeric powder and mix well.

Add it to the Soak Ingredients 1 and mix well.

Then add water to the idli steamer.

Brush ghee on the moulds of idli and add one spoonful of idli batter to the mould.

Steam it for 15 minutes or until it is cooked well (knife when poked should come clean).

Take the cover out and leave it out for few min before serving.
